Talisay District Hospital (TDH) launched the Department of Health (DOH) Universal High Impact Five with simultaneous nationwide live broadcast where DOH Secretary Janet L. Garin gave her congratulatory speech to all medical chiefs. Hi-5 is a unique directive involving all DOH hospitals to support the regional offices in their aspiration in achieving Universal Health Care, a crucial segment of the country’s 2015 Eight Millennium Development Goals. Hi-5 focuses on maternal health, infant health, child health, HIV/AIDS and the service delivery network. The featured Philippine Health Atlas highlights the crucial Hi-5 responsibility zones, primarily remote locations in every region that both have the greatest need and the least access to proper health care. This Hi-5 launching also introduced the Alagang Pinoy brand, a theme dedicated to improving customer satisfaction and high standard patient-centered care in DOH hospitals.

Last August 10, 2015, Talisay District Hospital celebrated the opening of the Hospital week festivity participated by the Medical Team (yellow minions), Nursing Team (blue angel) and Admin Team (Scarlet over kill) in their assigned Hi-5 Alagang Pinoy tee colors.The program started after the launched of the Department of Health (DOH) Universal High Impact Five simultaneous nationwide live broadcast. After the ceremonial lighting of torch, each team presented thier muse and escort.The Nursing team (blue angel) won the flag raising contest. Dr. Ralph Jacinto P. Pinat initiated the solemn oath of sportsmanship.

RedOrchidIn 2009, the Department of Health (DOH) issued Administrative Order No. 10 re COMPREHENSIVE 100% SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT POLICY that calls on the absolute smoking ban in DOH offices, hospitals and attached agencies and encouraging local government units to do the same in their health facilities and other public places; while the Civil Service Commission issued Memorandum Circular No. 17 in 2010 on SMOKING PROHIBITION BASED ON THE 100% SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT POLICY in all government agencies. As an offshoot, the DOH Red Orchid Awards was born. The DOH Red Orchid Awards is the Search for 100% Tobacco-Free Provinces, Municipalities, Cities, Government Offices, Government Hospitals and DOH Centers for Health Development.
